Leadtek Japan released to ship a new package of WinFast PxVC1100, a PC video accelerator card, bundleded with video encoding software TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress and TMPGEnc Movie Plug-in SpursEngine, a SpursEngine plug-in, by Pegasys, Inc.

WinFast PxVC1100 is equipped with a stream processor, SpursEngine SE 1000, developed by Toshiba, and is available for use with PCs with a PCI-Express x1 slot. It can perform high-speed encoding and transcoding of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 HD videos and/or the Super Resolution conversion (Toshiba's up-conversion technology) that transforms standard definition videos to HD-equivalent quality ones.

This new package is bundled with Pegasys, Inc.'s TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress, software encoder, and TMPGEnc Movie Plug-in SpursEngine, which allows to speed exporting of video processed with the encoder, replacing Ulead DVD MovieWriter 5 and WinDVD, Corel's DVD authoring software and DVD player, respectively.

TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress supports NVIDIA Inc.'s CUDA, a parallel computing technology that uses their GPU to speed signal processing, in addition to acclereration in encoding with the SpursEngine plug-in. Therefore, a PC equipped with both CUDA-powered GPU and WinFast PxVC1100 can substantially accelerate video processing such as HDTV encoding/decoding, filtering, and so forth.
